She’s changing the way things will run to be more sustainable. And she’s changing the minds of young women as to what’s possible. Every year, more and more women join the ranks of firefighters and first responders. It’s a path to a secure career that provides one of the most family friendly environments you could ask for.
Change can be a scary thing. But it can also be an inspiration.
And the 13 female FDNY Fire Academy graduates, the most in their history, are inspiring all of us here. And they’re inspiring a whole new generation of girls and young women who will follow in their footsteps. Congratulations to all of them.
